Volunteer Center
Being a Valley Cats and Dogs volunteer means more than having a job, it means having a mission!
Volunteering with Valley Cats and Dogs is a wonderful way to support the animal community and make new
friends! Volunteers are expected to volunteer an average of 2 hours per month in any area of interest.
There are many wonderful activities to select from -- Please see below:

Foster Home
We are looking for people who would be willing to foster a cat or dog in to their home and
treat him / her as if they were their own pet! The cat /dog would be fostered until he / she
was adopted in to a new, loving family.
PETsMART Dog Caretaker (Alma School and Warner only)
We need help on Saturdays from 11am - 4pm with our Dogs! You can stay for as long as you'd
like! We always appreciate any help we can get! You can do any of the following
tasks: walk the dogs, sit with the dogs, talk with public, fill water bowls, set up our
adoption table, tear down our adoption table, make copies of paperwork and many other
fun activities!! You can stop by our Alma School and Warner PETsMART adoption center
on
Alma School and Warner any Saturday between 11am-4pm and sign up! You may also
email us.
PETsMART Cat Caretaker (3 locations to select from)
We are looking for someone to help with our cats and kittens at our three adoption centers - Saturdays
and Sundays. Tasks include:
cleaning litter pans, filling food dishes, playing with kitties, talking with public, set up adoption
center, tear down and clean up for the next adoption day, make copies of paperwork, etc.
You can select from any one of the following locations:

Germann and Gilbert Road

Priest and Elliott
Adoption Consultant (Cats and Dogs)
We are looking for assistance with talking to potential families and matching one of our cats or dogs
with the appropriate family lifestyle. You can shadow one of our trained consultants and
learn about being one of our consultants.
Event Coordinator
We are looking for help with the coordination of various adoption
events that take place away from our adoption centers. There
are numerous adoption events and fundraising opportunities
throughout the year - we just need someone (or a team of someone's)
to take charge and make arrangements!!
Medical Personnel (Cats)
We are looking for assistance with giving our cats their vaccines
and drawing blood to test them for FELV/FIV. If you're familiar
with this aspect of medical attention we'd LOVE to have your
assistance!!
Volunteer Coordinator
We are looking for someone to take the lead on recruiting and organizing volunteers! Great way
to make new friends and open the public eye to the wonderful volunteer opportunites available!
Pet Donation Coordinator
We always need cat and dog supplies. There are so many options for acquiring such items -- Talking with grocery stores and
pet friendly stores asking if they would be willing to donate their torn bags of food, discontinued toys and other
pet related items, etc. If you have some connections to such items, we'd love to have you join us and perhaps become our
first official 'Pet Donation Coordinator'!
